American Firm Wins Machining Competition

Unbeknownst to many there are actually competitions devoted solely to putting manufacturing firms head to head to see who can machine the better parts. MAC Machine, out of Baltimore Maryland, is the winner of the Matsuura 2008 International Five-Axis Machining Competition.

The competition, held every year, focuses on metal fabrication, assembly, stamping, manufacturing, sheet metal, assembly, stamping, manufacturing, and sheet metal. The whole industry submits their top projects.
Hundreds of thousands of firms compete in the Matsura Machining Competition.

This means that sticking out in a crowd of that many requires machining a part so special that it had to outshine everyone else.
MAC Machine submitted a new aerospace part that was so complex that it challenged the firm to create a part that was longer than average, thin, light weight, and durable. They succeeded and subsequently won the Matsura Machining Competition award.

The part itself is a huge boon the aerospace and aeronautics industry. They had been waiting for a part designed and precisely machined. Now that MAC Machine has delivered they not only won the respect of their customer they have also garnered the attention of their peers in the tool manufacturing industry having won the 2008 Matsura Machining Competition.
