The Basics of Machining
Machining is done in most of the manufacturing company. All mechanical jobs done through machine tools mechanically like drilling, lathes, milling etc. are said to be machining. The place where machining work takes place is called machine shop.
The tool driller is used to make a round hole. The turner is used to make the hole in the cylindrical shape. In such a way each and every tool has its own purpose. The man and tool coordinate and work together are called machining.
Machining is mostly used by carpenters and also who works with iron, steel and other metals. Machining is not a single process; it is a group of process which together form a product to a finished product.
Usually mechanical engineers will do this. Apart from them, people with no theoretical knowledge can also perform this by means of regular practice.
By a proverb, Practice makes a man perfect. Though one scores 100% in his studies, if he doesn’t have theoretical knowledge, he can’t do the mechanical work. This work can be learnt only through the practice. It is also described as a removal of unwanted material from the metal.
This removal can be done using the manual work and with the use of tools. The tools are important part in the machining industry. Without tools we can’t perform machining process.
